“Very.” She wasn’t afraid or too proud to admit it. Tonight was beyond special.

It was their first night as Griffin and Katelyn Montgomery. In a few days, they would leave for a month-long honeymoon that would stretch from Europe to Asia.

Her eyes traced the sensuous shape of the bulbous air bladders and the discreet way Griffin had worked into the design a dozen plus spots to attach a carabiner. Dropping the question, she shook her head. They would not be the same ones, of course.

Tilting Katelyn’s head back, Griffin kissed her before answering. “They are, love. I had them tracked down by their serial numbers.”

She sucked another breath in, fat tears landing on her cheeks when she blinked.

She nodded. Of course he had found them — he knew how much they meant to her.

Remembering the look that had crossed Griffin’s face when she admitted to selling the lamps to stay afloat during their courtship by phone, she realized she should have expected him to search them out.

Letting her tears communicate her gratitude, she angled her head back and looked at the contraption above her. “Wow.”

Griffin chuckled as Katelyn’s gaze outlined the suspension beam and the pulley system that would disappear into the dropped ceiling with a click of the remote.
